He paid fifteen paise to the coolie, put the box, in which he had thrown pots and pans sundry other things, on his own head and began to walk in the direction of his house.

As he reached Kadam’s house, he saw Bhujaba coming towards him. Bhujaba was a knqwn rascal of the village. Bayaji balanced the burden on his head. Straightening his neck, he said, ‘Greetings to you, sir, how are things with you ?’

Bayaji was a Mahar by caste and according to age-old custom he should have greeted Bhujaba with ‘My humble salutations to you, sir, who are my father and mother.’ So, when Bayaji merely said ‘Greetings’. Bhujaba became furious and said, ‘Do you think you can become a Brahmin merely by saying “Greetings’’ ? Can you forget your position simply because you’ve turned a Buddist ?’

Bayaji was nonplussed. For a moment, he was tempted to knock him down with his box but realised that he couldn’t afford to do so. Besides, now he had come back to his village for good. He was to spend the rest of his days on this soil and would be interred in the same soil. He would not be able to return to Pune or Bombay hereafter. It was not a good policy to incur the hostility of anyone in the village, least so ofthePatil, the village headman. (The Storeyed House – I)

Yes, there is social discrimination in this story. It is stated that the Mahars have to address the upper caste people like “My humble salutations to you sir, who are my father and mother.” By this we can understand that there is social discrimination in the story.

Bayaji worked hard throughout his life lifting heavy loads. So Bayaji was in sound health.

For a moment, he was tempted to knock him down with his box but realised that he couldn’t afford to do so. He had come back to his village for good and he had to spend his rest of days there. He came from a poor but educated family. His father was a high-school teacher and an avid reader of English literature. He, like all the boys in his class, was trying to get admission into some engineering college. The brighter ones wanted to study in the Indian Institutes of Technology, or the IITs. There was an entrance test for IIT. This boy, along with his friends, applied to appear for the test. They did not have any special books or coaching. All these IIT aspirants would sit below the shade of a stone mandap close to Chamundi Hills in the sleepy town of Mysore. He was the guide for the others. While the others struggled to slove the problems in the question paper, he would smile shyly and solve them in no time. He sat alone below a tree and dreamt of studying at IIT. It was the ultimate aim for any bright boy at that age, as it still is today. He was then only sixteen years old.

The D-Day came. He came to Bangalore, stayed with some relatives and appeared for the entrance test. He did very well but would only say ‘OK’ when asked. It was the opposite when it came to food. When he said ‘OK’ it implied ’bad’, when he said ’good’ it implied ’OK’ when he said ‘excellent’ it implied ‘good’. His principle was never to hurt anyone.

The IIT entrance results came. He had passed with a high rank. What a delight for any student ! He was thrilled. He went to his father who was reading a newspaper. (I Will Do It)

Garbage is a great environment hazard. It comes from various sources-used paper, tiffin pack-ings, plastic bags, ice-cream wrappers, bottle caps, fallen leaves from trees and many more. Garbage makes the premises ugly, unkempt and breeds diseases.

A lot of trash that is thrown away contains material that can be recycled and reused such as paper, metals and glass which can be sent to the nearest recycling centre or disposed of to the junk dealer. It also contains organic matter such as leaves which can enrich soil fertility. A compost pit can be made at a convenient location where the refuse can be placed with layers of soil and an occasional sprinkling of water. This would help decomposition to make valuable fertilizer. This would also prevent pollution that is usually caused by burning such organic waste.

‘राम-लक्ष्मण – परशुराम संवाद’ के कवि तुलसीदास का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के बाँदा जिले के राजापुर नामक गाँव में सन् 1532 में हुआ था । ये राम-भक्ति – शाखा के प्रतिनिधि कवि हैं | ‘रामचरितमानस’ महाकाव्य इनकी अनन्य राम भक्ति और सृजनात्मक कुशलता का मनोरम उदाहरण है । ‘मानस’ के अलवा कवितावली, गीतावली, दोहावली, विनय पत्रिका, बरवै रामायण, पार्वती मंगल, जानकी मंगल, हनुमान बाहुक आदि इनकी प्रमुख रचनाएँ हैं । ये अवधी और व्रज भाषाओं के सव्यसाची थे । सन् 1623 में काशी में इनका देहांत हुआ ।

‘कन्यादान’ पाठ का मुख्य उद्देश्य एक ओर छात्रों में गीत, कविता आदि की रचना – शैली का विकास करना है ।

दूसरी ओर स्त्री की साधिकारिता की भावना का विकास करना और रूढिवादी परंपराओं से हट कर स्त्री को स्व अस्तित्व सिद्ध करने के लिए प्रेरित करना है ।

इसके अलावा कन्यादान के समय माता-पिताओं की मानसिक स्थिति को दर्शना, कन्या को रीति-रिवाजों के बारे में बताना शादी के बाद कन्या को कैसा व्यवहार करना आदि विषयों को अवगत करना है ।

हनुमानप्रसाद जी के स्वभाव का परिचय दीजिए ।
उत्तर:
बाबू हनुमान प्रसाद स्वयं घर की सब्जी बाज़ार से रोज खरीदकर ले जाते हैं । धनिए की गड्डी पैसे-पैसे या दो पैसे की तीन लेते हैं। शलगम को पत्ते तुड़वाकर तुलवाने को आग्रह करते हैं । आलू छाँट-छाँटकर चढ़वाते हैं। सड़ा कुम्हाड़ा दूसरे दिन कटा हुआ वापस करते हैं । कचालू धुलवाकर, मिट्टी हटाकर लेते हैं। इससे कोई दुकानदार उन्हें मन से नहीं चाहता । बाहर जानेवाले को मौसमी तरकारी की फ़रमाइश देते हैं । उन्हें हरी सब्जी का मर्ज है । वे सब्जियों का अच्छा ज्ञानी है ।

अ) बेटी को आत्मविश्वासी बनाने में माँ की भूमिका महत्वपूर्ण होती है – कथन की पुष्टि कन्यादान पाठ के आधार पर कीजिए ।
उत्तर:
माँ ही बेटी को आत्म विश्वास एवं स्वावलंबन बनाती है। माँ बेटी को वधू बनने तक सजाती- सँवारती है । वह उसे आत्मविश्वासी और स्वावलंबी बनाती है । वह अपनी पति के साथ मिलकर कन्यादान करती है ।

माँ अपनी विवाहिता बेटी को ससुराल भेजते समय भी भाव विभोर होकर उपदेश देती है – हे बेटी ! तुम को जल में झाँककर अपने मुख के प्रतिबिंब को देखकर मोहित नहीं होना चाहिए । गर्व नहीं करना चाहिए। आंतरिक सुंदरता रखनी चाहिए। अग्नि भोजन बनाने के लिए है, न कि शरीर के अंग जलाने के लिए । रचना में शब्दों की आडंबरता की तुलना में भावना प्रधान होती है । उसी प्रकार परिधान और आभूषण महिला – जीवन में बंधन हैं । वे रचना में शब्दों की तरह प्रधान नहीं होते । भावना की तरह आत्मीय सुंदरता प्रधान है । इसके अनुसार आजीवन तुम व्यवहार करना चाहिए । इस प्रकार बेटी को आत्मविश्वासी बनाने में माँ की भूमिका महत्वपूर्ण होती है । इस कथन की ऋतुराज ‘कन्यादान’ कविता-पाठ से इस तरह पुष्टि हुई ।

आ) अन्वेषण कविता में कवि भगवान को प्राप्त करने की अपनी असमर्थता को किस प्रकार व्यक्त कर रहे है ?
उत्तर:
‘अन्वेषण’ कविता में कवि पं. रामनरेश त्रिपाठी अपने को भगवान की प्राप्ति के अनेक अवसर मिलने पर भी उन से लाभ उठाने में अपनी असमर्थता इस प्रकार व्यक्त करते हैं ।

हे भगवान ! मैं जब तुझे कुंजों और वनों में ढूँढता, तो तू मुझे दीन-दुखियों की जगह ढूँढता था | जब तू किसी दुःखी की पीड़ा बनकर मुझे पुकारता, तो मैं तुझे गाने-बजाने में मस्त होकर बुलाता था । तू जब मेरे लिए दीन-दुखियों के फाटक पर खड़ा, तो मैं किसी उपवन में तेरी प्रतीक्षा कर रहा था । जब तू किसी दीन के आँसू बनकर बहा रहा, तो मुझे मान-सम्मान और धन-दौलत से प्यार हुआ । जब मैं भजन-कीर्तन में तुझे मोहित करता, तब किसी पतित को उद्धार करता रहा था । जब तू लाचारों के बीच में खड़ा था तो मैं तेरे आश्रय छोड़कर स्वर्ग सुख देखता रहा था । जब तू कर्म में लीन था, तब मैं कथन में मस्त था । मैं तुझे पाने में असमर्थ और मूर्ख बन गया ।

अ) दोनों भाइयों के स्वभाव का परिचय देते हुए, बताइये कि आपको किसका स्वभाव अनुकरणीय है, क्यों ?
उत्तर:
दोनों भाइयों के स्वभाव अलग- अलग होते हैं। छोटे भाई का जी पढ़ने में नहीं लगता था । एक घंटा भी किताब लेकर बैठ न सकता । मौका पाते ही होस्टल से निकलकर मैदान में आ जाता । कभी ककरियाँ उछालता । कभी कागज की तितलियाँ उड़ाता । कभी चार दीवारी पर चढ़कर नीचे कूदना, फाटक पर सवार होना पतंगबाजी में भाग लेना, टोर्नामेंट का संचालन करना आदि में रूचि दिखाता है । बड़े भाई के फ़ेल होने पर यह गर्वीला और कुटिल होता है । अंत में बड़े भाई के डाँट फटकार से उसे अपनी लघुता का अनुभव होता है और मन में बड़े भाई के प्रति श्रद्धा उत्पन्न होती है ।

इसके विपरीत बड़ा भाई बड़ा अध्ययनशील है। सदा सुंदर लिखावट और सही वर्तनी की कोशिश करता है | इसमें अनुभव और व्यावहारिक ज्ञान है । वह ज्ञानार्जन के लिए पढ़ता है, न कि अंक पाने और पास होने के लिए । समय समय वह छोटे भाई को डाँट फटकारता है । उसे सीधे रास्ते लाने की कोशिश करता है । वह ऐसे न करने पर छोटा भाई कक्षा में अव्वल नहीं आता और सीधे रास्ते पर नहीं आता । बड़ा भाई अपनी और अपने छोटे भाई की जिम्मेदारी लेकर अपना कर्तव्य निभाता है ।

इसके विवेचन से मुझे बड़े भाई का आदर्शवादी स्वभाव अनुकरणीय है ।

आ) साये कहानी के आधार पर मानवीय संबंधों के बारे में बताइये ।
उत्तर:
हिमांशु जोशी की कहानी ‘साये’ में सच्चे मित्र के स्वभाव और मानवीय संबंध प्रतिबिंबित हैं । अज्जू के पिता काम पर नैरोबी में रहते हैं । वह अपने जिगरी दोस्त को हिंदुस्तान से बुलाता है । बड़ी लगन से सारा काम सिखाता है । साथ-साथ साझे में दोनों एक कारोबार शुरु करते हैं, जो आज एक बहुत अच्छी फ़र्म होती है। दोनों लंबे समय तक सगे भाइयों की तरह साथ- साथ रहे । यह मित्र सच्चा मित्र है | पंचतंत्र में कथित सच्चे मित्र के छह लक्षण इस में कूट- कूट भरे हुए हैं | वह कृतज्ञ है | वह अज्जू के पिता के मरते समय उसे दिया गया वचन निभाता है । वह पिता के स्थान में एक साये के रूप में विदेश में रह कर मित्र के परिवार को सब सुविधाएँ देकर, आशा पैदाकर, प्रोत्साहित कर पिता से भी बढ़कर भगवान के स्थान में रहता है । वह समय-समय पर पत्रों द्वारा मित्र के परिवार का हाल-चाल पूछता रहता है | काफी पैसा भेजता रहता है। बच्चों की पढ़ाई पूरी करवाता है । बच्ची की शादी कराता है । अंत में अज्जू को उसके पिता की मृत्यु का रहस्य बताता है । वह अज्जू को सांत्वना देकर अपना कारोबार सौंप देता है ।
इस प्रकार साये कहानी में दर्शाए गए मित्रों के स्वभाव और मानवीय संबंध उत्कृष्ट कोटि के हैं।

अतः आप से सविनय निवेदन है कि हमारे इलाके में शीघ्रातिशीघ्र बिजली की व्यवस्था को सुचारु कर बिजली संकट को दूर कर हमें कृतार्थ करें ।

AIR POLLUTION

Pollution is the release of harmful substances into environment. Our environment is polluted by the pollutants released from vehicles, factories and so on. Traffic related air pollution is one of the major causes of environmental or air pollution. The other cause contributing to air pollution is the release of harmful gases from industries.

Vehicles and certain industries release harmful substances like carbon monoxide, sulphur, oxides of nitrogen, hydrogen sulphide etc when fuel is ignited or reactions take place. These have a damaging effects on health. Many diseases like asthma, eye irritation, pneumonia, weakened body’s immune system, blockage of vital organs are caused due to breathing of air mixed with these harmful substances. Apart from these, the pollution released from vehicles and industries leads to depletion of ozone layer. Depletion of ozone layer increases global warming rising temperatures all over the world leading to various disturbances in natural cycle. Some of the adverse effects of global warming are reduction of air quality, acid rains etc.

There are a few alternative methods to reduce this air pollution. Minimised use of vehicles, regular checkups of vehicles, maintenance of vehicles in good condition, minimising fuel combustion by minimising unnecessary trips, using bicycles for short distances or walking, using public transport to reduce fuel usage and pollution in case of vehicles. As regards factories, turning off air conditioners when not in use, minimising the use of fossil fuels and replacing them with alternatives like solar, wind, using filters are a few among the ways to prevent air pollution.

It is everybody’s responsibility to support healthy life on earth. Every one of us must ’ consider it a responsibility to ensure our earth is protected and safe. We need fresh air to breathe and sustain. Our indiscriminate use of fuels is doing a lot of damage to our environment. Giving a better future for our later generations is our responsibility.

Good morning respected Headmaster, beloved teachers and my dear fellow students.

Today 1, xxxx, would like to share my views on the family relations which are becoming weaker nowadays. There are several reasons for this unfortunate development. The most important one, of course, is the change in our lifestyles, values and goals.

Families that spend a lot of time together tend to be closer. And families where the members rarely come face to face with one another have hardly anything that ties them together. In the olden days parents and children used to live and work together. In many families, children pursued the same career as their father. They learned the trade or craft from their parents arid elder siblings. This allowed them to spend more time with their family and that made their relationships stronger.

Now we are living in the age of individualism. Everyone needs their space. This has made us more self centered than our parents or grandparents. This also reflects in our relationships. We no longer believe in making adjustments or compromises. We want everything our way. This attitude creates strain in our relationships.

There is yet another reason that affects family bonds. People are increasingly moving to another city or country in search of better education, jobs or living standards. They leave their family behind. While it is possible to keep in touch through modern communication means, an email or phone call is not equal a face-to-face interaction. The only way to forge better ties with our near and dear ones is to spend more time with them.

Nowadays people have become so selfish that they always think about money and assets. Even members of the family do not show affection towards elders. It pains to say that youngsters todays have neither time nor respect for the elders. Our busy lifestyle gives us no time to spend with them. They feel lonely and neglected. Our elders gave us their precious time, love, care, money, education, etc. If they had not done so, what would have been our situation ? So it is our responsibility to give them back their love and concern.

We must reslize that our biggest strength is our family. Relationships are like potted plants. We need to nourish them. If we don’t give them the love and affection they need, they will wilt. If we need better family relationships, we must be willing to adjust and compromise. We must realize that the only way to win love is to give love. We must remember that the strength of a family, like the strength of an army, is in its loyalty to each other.

Aim : To Show Chemical decomposition of water
Materials required for chemical decomposition of water :
A plastic mug, two carbon rods, two corks, two test tubes, connecting wires,
9 V battery, water and some drops of acid.

Procedure :

1. Take a plastic mug, drill holes at the base.
2. Fit two one holed rubber stoppers in these holes:
3. Insert two carbon electrodes in these rubber stoppers.
4. Connect the electrodes to 9 V battery.
5. Fill the mug with water, so that the electrodes are immersed.
6. Add few drops of any acid.
7. Take two test tubes filled with water and insert them over the two carbon electrodes.
8. Switch on the circuit and leave the apparatus undisturbed for some time.
9. We notice the liberation of bubbles at both the electrodes. These bubbles displace the water in the test tubes.
10. After the test tubes are filled with gas, take them out and test the gases with a burning matchstick.
    The products which we get in this reaction: The gases are considered oxygen and hydrogen.

Water of Crystallization : Water of crystallization is the fixed number of water molecules chemically attached to each formula unit of a salt in its crys¬talline form. The salts which contains water of crystallization are called hydrated salts.

Activity :

1. Take a few crystals of copper sulphate in a dry test tube.
2. Heat the crystals strongly by keeping the test tube over the flame of a burner for sometime.
3. On heating, the blue coloured copper sulphate crystals turns white and a powdery substance is formed.
4. We can also see tiny droplets of water in the test tube.
5. Now cool the test tube and add 2 or 3 drops of water on the white copper sulphate powder formed above.
6. The blue colour of copper sulphate crystals are reformed. They become blue again.
7. From the above activity we conclude that some water molecules are fixed in the blue coloured copper sulfate crystals.

జవాబు:
మనం సెలవు రోజుల్లో కుటుంబ సభ్యులతో కలసి అప్పుడప్పుడు భోజనం చేస్తుంటాం. పెద్దలు, పిన్నలు అందరు కలసినపుడు కలిగే ఆనందాన్ని వర్ణించలేము. ఈ సభ్యుల్లో వరసైన బావమరదళ్ళు కూడా ఉంటే ఇంకా ఆనందంగా ఉంటుంది. ఛలోక్తుల మధ్య సరదాగా కాలం గడుపుతూ ఆంధ్రాభోజనం చేస్తుంటే బహుపసందుగా ఉంటుంది. తియ్యగా మాట్లాడుతూ, రకరకాల రుచులతో ఊరిస్తూ పిల్లలు చేసే సందళ్ళు మనోహరంగా ఉంటుంది. అందుకే కలిసి తినడంలో ఆనందం ఉంటుంది.

ప్రశ్న 13.
‘నీ ఒక్కని ఆలోచనతోనే పని చేయకు’ అని ఎందుకు అంటారో వివరించండి.
జవాబు:
ఒక్కనితో ఆలోచన చేయరాదు. ఎందుకంటే ఆలోచించేటప్పుడు ఒకే ఒక్క ఊహతోనే ఉంటాడు. దానివల్ల మంచి కన్నా చెడు జరిగే ప్రమాదం ఉంది. అందువల్ల నలుగురితో కలిసి ఆలోచించాలి. అలా ఆలోచిస్తే తప్పుడు ఆలోచన – వచ్చినా, ప్రక్కవాడు దాన్ని సరి చేస్తాడు. అపుడు పదిమందికి ఉపయోగపడే ఆలోచనలు కలుగుతాయి.

పరాంకుశం దామోదర స్వామి గురించి మీకు తెలిసిన విషయాలు రాయండి.
జవాబు:
పరాంకుశం దామోదర స్వామి. 15.8.1941న హన్మకొండ జిల్లా శాయంపేట గ్రామంలో జన్మించారు. ఈయన ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి, ఆంధ్రప్రభలలో పనిచేశారు. ‘రాజధాని లేఖ’ను, శీర్షికను ఆంధ్రజ్యోతిలో నిర్వహించి వందలాది వ్యాసాలు రాశారు. ఈయన ఈ “నేల ఈ గాలి”. వ్యాస సంపుటిగా ప్రచురించారు. “జాతీయ సమైక్యత, సహోదరత్వానికి” దోహదం చేసే జర్నలిస్టుకు ఇచ్చే అవార్డును 1985లో యునైటెడ్ హిందూ ముస్లిం ఫ్రంట్ ఈయనకు ప్రదానం చేసి సత్కరించింది.

పెంబర్తి వారిది ‘కళా హృదయం’ అని చెప్పక చెబుతున్న అంశాలేవి ?

రాళ్ళల్లో చైతన్యం కలిగించిన ఆ చేతులు, సున్నితమైన బంగారం, వెండిపై నగిషీలు చెక్కడం విడ్డూరమే అయినా, వారిది ‘కళాహృదయం’ అని చెప్పక చెబుతున్నది. పెంబర్తి గ్రామంలో ‘ఏకాంబరేశ్వరి’ ఆలయం వారి పూర్వీకులు చెక్కిన చివరి శిల్పం. ఈ కళానైపుణ్యం తరతరాలుగా, వంశపారంపర్యంగా సంక్రమించింది. వారి రక్తంలో కళాసంపద, భావనా శబలత, సాంకేతిక విజ్ఞత ఇమిడిపోయాయి. కళాఖండాలను, సృష్టించడం వారి నిత్య నైమిత్తికం.

శతక పద్యాలు మనలో నైతిక విలువలు, జీవన విధానాలు, మంచి నడవడి మొదలగు అంశాలను పెంపొందిపచేస్తాయి. శతక పద్యాలను చదివి ఈ కింది మంచి గుణాలు అలవాటు చేసుకోవాలి. మనలోనున్న చెడు గుణాలను విడిచిపెట్టాలి. అలవాటు చేసుకోవలసిన గుణాలు :

1. దైవ పూజకు సత్యం, దయ, ఏకాగ్రత అనేవి అవసరం.
2. గురువుని గౌరవించాలి. స్నేహితునికి ద్రోహం చేయరాదు.
3. అబద్ధాలు ఆడరాదు. సత్యమునే పలుకవలెను.
4. భక్తుల సాంగత్యాన్ని వీడరాదు. కోరికల్ని అదుపులో పెట్టుకోవాలి.

వీధుల్ని శుభ్రపరిచేవారిని పారిశుద్ధ్య కార్మికులంటారు. వీరు సూర్యోదయానికి ముందే నిద్రలేస్తారు. చీపురుతో వీధులన్నీ శుభ్రపరుస్తారు. చెత్తనంతా ఒక చోటకు పోగుచేసి బుట్టలతో ఎత్తి ఊరికి దూరంగా పోస్తారు. వారానికోసారి ఆ చెత్త గుట్టలన్నీ తగులబెడతారు. ప్రజలకు ఎటువంటి అంటు రోగాలు రాకుండా రాత్రిబవళ్ళూ శ్రమిస్తూ రోడ్లను తుడుస్తూ అద్దాల్లాగా ఉంచుతారు.

ఇంకా వీధులకు ఇరువైపులనున్న డ్రైనేజీ (మురుగు కాల్వలు)లో పేరుకున్న చెత్తనంతా తీసి శుభ్రపరుస్తారు. ఎటువంటి అంటురోగాలు రాకుండా రోడ్లకు ఇరువైపులా బ్లీచింగ్ వగైరాలు చల్లుతారు. దోమలను నివారించే క్రిమిసంహారక మందులు వాడతారు. ప్రజలకు ఎటువంటి అనారోగ్యాలు రాకుండా సంరక్షిస్తారు. ఒకరకంగా ఈ పారిశుద్ధ్య కార్మికులు గ్రామ సంరక్షకులని చెప్పవచ్చు.

ప్రశ్న 17.
స్త్రీ ఔన్నత్యం గురించి సొంతమాటల్లో రాయండి.
జవాబు:
నాడు, నేడు, ఏనాడూ కూడా సమాజానికి వెన్నెముక స్త్రీ. ప్రకృతి స్వరూపమే స్త్రీ. చిన్నప్పటి నుండి ఇంటికి అనురాగ దీపిక. అంధకారంలో వెలుగల జాబిలి. ఎప్పుడూ సమాజంలో స్త్రీ తల్లిగా, చెల్లిగా, ఇల్లాలుగా రకరకాలైన పాత్రలను ధరిస్తూ తన జీవితాన్ని త్యాగం చేస్తుంది. కుటుంబానికి సేవకురాలియై సేవలు చేస్తూ తన అమృత హృదయంతో ప్రేమను పంచుతుంది.

మన స్త్రీలలో పరంపరాగతమైన నైతిక విలువలున్నాయి. కష్టాలు ఓరిమితో సహించిన సీతమ్మలున్నారు. యముడితో పోరాడి పతి ప్రాణాలను దక్కించుకున్న సావిత్రులున్నారు. ఘోరమైన తపస్సు చేసి పరమశివుడిలో అర్థభాగాన్ని పొందకల్గిన పార్వతులున్నారు. త్రిమూర్తులను పసిపాపలుగా చేసి తన శీలాన్ని కాపాడుకున్న అనసూయమ్మలున్నారు. సూర్యచంద్రాదుల గతులను అరికట్టిన సుమతులున్నారు. గృహమొక రాజ్యంగా పరిపాలిస్తున్న స్త్రీ మాతృమూర్తిగా ఒక సామ్రాజ్ఞిగా నిండు మనసుతో గంభీరంగా నిబ్బరంతో ఎన్ని కష్టాలు వచ్చి మీదపడినా తన ఆదర్శాలను విడనాడకుండా తన సంతతికి బోధిస్తుంది.

అదొక పల్లెటూరు. ఆ ఊళ్ళో పుల్లయ్య అనే పేదవాడు ఉన్నాడు. ఆయనకు ఇద్దరు కూతుళ్ళు. పెద్దమ్మాయికి పెళ్ళి సంబంధం చూశాడు. అమ్మాయికి అందం, చదువు రెండూ ఉన్నాయి. అబ్బాయికి అమ్మాయి నచ్చింది. అయినా వరుని పక్షంవారు కట్నకానుకలు ఇవ్వనిదే పెళ్ళి కుదరదన్నారు. పుల్లయ్యకు ఏం చేయాలో తోచలేదు.

ఆ ఊళ్ళో ఒక సంఘసంస్కర్త ఉన్నాడు. వరకట్నమనేది దురాచారమనీ, దానిని ప్రోత్సహించరాదనీ అబ్బాయి తల్లిదండ్రులకు అర్థమయ్యే రీతిలో బోధించాడు. అమ్మాయి చదువుకున్నది. అందం ఉన్నది. మంచి కుటుంబం. ఇంతకంటే ఏం కావాలన్నాడు ? ఆయన మాటలకు వాళ్ళు స్పందించి పైసా కట్నం తీసుకోకుండా పెళ్ళి జరిపించడానికి ఇష్టపడ్డారు. అందరూ సంతోషించి సంఘసంస్కర్తను మెచ్చుకున్నారు. వివాహానికి కావలసిన ఏర్పాట్లు చేసుకున్నారు.

చెట్లు జీవన సౌభాగ్యానికి మెట్లు. నేడు నగరాలు, గ్రామాలు కూడా, పర్యావరణ కాలుష్యంతో సతమతమవుతున్నాయి. ప్రజలంతా రోగాలతో డాక్టర్ల వెంట తిరుగుతున్నారు. దీనికి కారణం దేశంలో పచ్చని చెట్లు తక్కువ కావడమే.

చెట్లు బొగ్గుపులుసు వాయువును పీల్చి, ప్రాణవాయువును మనకు అందిస్తాయి. పూలను, పండ్లను ఇస్తాయి. చల్లని నీడను, గాలిని ఇస్తాయి. పర్యావరణ కాలుష్యం నుండి మనలను కాపాడతాయి.

కాబట్టి ప్రతి వ్యక్తి ఒక్కొక్క చెట్టును పాతిపెంచాలి. ప్రభుత్వము మంచి మొక్కలను ప్రజలకు ఉచితంగా ఇచ్చి వాటిని పాతించాలి. మొక్కలను పెంచి, వాటికి రక్షణ కల్పించాలి. దేశంలో సహితం అడవుల విస్తీర్ణం తగ్గిపోయింది. అందుకే మనకు వర్షాలు లేవు.

కొవ్వొత్తి కరిగితేనే కాంతినివ్వగలుగుతుంది. రాయిని చెక్కినప్పుడే శిల్పంగా మారుతుంది. తీవ్రమైన మార్పులకు సిద్ధమైనప్పుడే ఫలితం దక్కుతుంది. మానవ జీవితాలకు మేలు కలిగించినప్పుడే నేర్చుకున్న చదువుకు ప్రయోజనం కలుగుతుంది. బురదలో పుట్టినంత మాత్రాన పద్మానికి విలువ తగ్గదు. తరతరాలుగా తాటాకుల మీదనే ఉన్నప్పటికీ పద్యానికి విలువ తగ్గదు. అసలు సిసలు శక్తియున్నప్పుడే దాన్ని ఎవరూ అడ్డుకోలేరు. మట్టిని ఎంత దున్నినా బాధపడదు. పరవళ్ళు తొక్కుతూ ప్రవహించే ఏటికి అనారోగ్యం ఉండదు. ఎంత ఎత్తుకు ఎగిరినప్పటికీ ఆకాశానికి అంతు ఉండదు. ప్రాణికోటి ఎంత పీల్చుకుంటున్నా గాలికి బరువు ఉండదు. కనుక మానవుడు కూడా ఇటువంటి చైతన్యంతో ఉన్నతమైన లక్ష్యం కోసం కృషి చేయాలి.

జవాబు:
సామాన్యంగా శతక కవులు తన కాలంనాటి సంఘంలోని మంచి చెడులను గూర్చి తమ పద్యాల్లో చెబుతారు. ఆ కవులు నాటి సంఘంలోని దురాచారాల్ని ఎత్తి చూపి విమర్శిస్తారు. నీతి మార్గాన్ని సంఘానికి బోధిస్తారు.

సుమతి శతకంలో నాటి సంఘంలోని మనుష్యులు, పరద్రవ్యాన్ని ఆశించి ఎలా బతుకుతున్నారో చెప్పాడు. వేమన శతకంలో ఆనాటి సమాజంలో పరద్రవ్యాన్ని ఆశించి, జోస్యాలు చెప్పడం, చాడీలు చెప్పడం, అబద్ధాలాడటం, వంకర మార్గంలో కీర్తిని సాధించే ప్రయత్నం చేయడం, హింసను ప్రేరేపించడం వంటి పనులు చేస్తున్నారని చెప్పాడు. ఇది వేమన కాలంనాటి సమాజ ప్రతిబింబం అనడంలో వివాదం అక్కరలేదు.

అలాగే భాస్కర శతక కర్త మారద వెంకయ్య కూడా ఇంట్లో అత్తాకోడళ్ళ పోరాటాలు, కర్మశాలలో అలజడులు, దళితుల పట్ల అగ్రవర్ణాల అరాచకాలు, మతహింస వంటి, నేటి సమాజంలోని లోపాలను ఎత్తి చూపి, వాటిని పరిహరించే మార్గాలను కూడా ఉపదేశించారు. ఈ పద్యం నేటి సమాజానికి చక్కని ప్రతిబింబం.

నేటి మనుష్యులలో అవినీతి, లంచగొండితనం, దురాచారాలు వంటి విషం పెరిగిపోయిందని, నరసింహ శతక కర్త ఈనాటి సంఘాన్ని గురించి దీనిలో విమర్శించారు.

ప్రతి ఏటా జరిగే మత సాంఘిక సభలకు భాగ్యరెడ్డివర్మ హాజరయ్యేవాడు. ప్రజాభిప్రాయాన్ని కూడగట్టే ప్రముఖులపై ఆయన ప్రభావం ఎంతగానో ఉండేది. ఆంధ్రమహాసభ, ఆదిహిందూ మహాసభ, అఖిలభారత అంటరాని వర్గాల సభ, వంటి సంస్థలు జాతీయస్థాయిలో నిర్వహించిన అనేక సభల్లో ఆయన చురుకుగా పాల్గొన్నాడు. ఆయన పాల్గొన్న ప్రతి సభలో తన జాతి జననులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న దుర్భర పరిస్థితులపై వివరంగా చెప్పేవాడు. ఆయన జన జీవితంలో కాలు పెట్టిన దాదిగా మొత్తం 3,348 ఉపన్యాసాలిచ్చాడు. ఆయన అణగారిన వర్గాలలో చైతన్యం తేవడానికి తీవ్రమైన కృషి చేశాడు.

A chemical equation in which the number of atoms of different elements on the reactants side are same as those on product side is called a balanced equation.
Steps involved in balancing a chemical reaction : Let us consider the combustion reaction of Propane.

Step 1: Write the unbalanced equation using correct chemical formula for all substances.
C₃H₈ + O₂ → CO₂ + H₂O (Skeleton equation)

Step 2 : Compare number of atoms of each element on both sides.

Atom	No. of atoms in LH.S.	No. of atoms in RH.S.
C	3 ((in C3 H3)	1 (in CO2)
H	8 (in C3 H3)	2 (in H2O)
O	2 (in O2)	3 (inCO2, H2O)

Find the co efficients to balance the equation. In this case, there are 3 carbon atoms on the left side of the equation but only one on the right side. If we add a co-efficient of 3 to CO₂ on the right side the carbon atoms balance,
C₃H₈ + O₂ → 3 CO₂ + H₂O
Now, look at the number of hydrogen atoms. There are 8 hydrogen atoms on the left but only 2 on the right side. By adding a co-efficient of 4 to the H₂O on the right side, the hydrogen atoms get balanced.
C₃H₈ + O₂ → 3 CO₂ + 4 H₂O
Finally, look at the number of oxygen atoms. There are 2 on the left side but 10 on the right side. By adding a co-efficient of 5 to the 02 on the left side, the oxygen atoms get balanced.
C₃H₈ + 5 O₂ → 3 CO₂ + 4 H₂O

Step 3 : Make sure the co-efficients are reduced to their smallest whole number values. The above equation is already with the co efficients in smallest whole numbers. There is no need to reduce its co efficients. Hence the final equation is
C₃H₈ + 5 O₂ → 3 CO₂ + 4 H₂O

Step 4 : Check the answer. Count the numbers and kinds of atoms on both sides of the equation to make sure they are the same.

Procedure :

1. Prepare glucose, alcohol, hydrochloric and sulphuric acid solution.
2. Fix two iron graphite rods on a rubber cork and place the cork in a 100 ml beaker.
3. Connect two different coloured electrical wires to graphite rods separately as shown in figure.
4. Connect free ends of the wire to 230 volts AC plug.
5. Complete the circuit as shown in the figure by connecting a bulb to one of the wires.
6. Now pour some dilute HCl in the beaker and switch on the current.

Observation : The bulb starts glowing.
Repetition : Repeat activity with dilute sulphuric acid, glucose and alcohol solutions separately.

From len’s formula = \(\frac{1}{\mathrm{f}}\) = \(\frac{1}{\mathrm{v}}\) – \(\frac{1}{\mathrm{u}}\) = \(\frac{1}{20}\) + \(\frac{1}{30}\)
⇒ f = 12 cm
The value of the focal length of the lens we get is positive so the lens is convex type.
For convex lens, Len’s maker’s formula is

3. Here Aufbau principle is violated. According to Aufbau principle, the electron occupies the orbital having least energy first.
4. That means in the ground state the electronic configuration can be built up by placing electrons in the lowest available orbitals until the total number of electrons added is equal to the atomic number.
5. But the atoms with half filled or fully filled orbitals in their outermost orbit are more stable
   when compared with their neighbouring elements.

Aim : Preparation of a simple electric motor.

Materials required : A wire of nearly 15 cm, 1.5V battery, iron nail, strong magnet paper clip.

Procedure :

1. Attach the magnet to the head of the iron nail.
2. Attach a paper clip to the open end of the magnet.
3. Now attach the other end of the nail (Free end) to the cap (positive terminal) of the battery.
4. Now connect the negative terminal of the battery and the head of the iron nail through a wire.
5. We observe that the paper clip rotates.

Another model :
Materials required : 1.5 m enamelled copper wire (about 25 gauge), 2 safety pins, 1.5V battery, magnets, rubber bands or bands cut from cycle tube.

Procedure:

1. Wind copper wire on the battery nearly 10 15 turns to make a coil.
2. Remove the coil and fix the ends as shown in the figure.
3. Scape the insulation completely on one end of the coil.
4. Scape the insulation on top, left and right of the other end. The bottom should be insulated.
5. Now complete the electric motor as shown in the figure.
6. We observe the rotation of coil.
