Question 1.
Why do you think was Panch and Patta possible only within a tribe? Why Is It not possible in societies with people from different communities? (Appreciation and Sensitivity)
Answer:
When all the members feel that all they are equal, the community decision-making is possible. lf the members were not equal there arises a question of rich and poor or big or small and the superiority and inferiority complexes would start. If people of different communities live together the feeling of oneness may disturb, Rich and poor differences may come up. Unity among the Gond tribe may be hampered.

Question 2.
Have you heard of any such community panchayat in your area? Discuss its functioning with your teachers, parents and elders. (Reflection on contemporary issues and questioning)
Answer:
We heard of such panchayats in the remote villages of Telangana. In those panchayats, the headman (Rayudu) will be there. The panchayat will be held usually once in a month, or whenever the problem arises In that panchayat the victim is called for and asked for details of the case by the headman, When the victim gives details of the case, the accused also will be given chance to give his/her explanation. At that time the bead man may also gather more details i.e., witnesses. After hearing all the details of the case the headman (Rayudu) may deliver his judgement. All of the villagers have to obey the judgement.

Question 3.
Would you accept the judgement of the Gond panchayat without going to the police or the court? (Reflection on contemporary issues and questioning)
Answer:
I personally believe that the village (tribal) panchayats are not much efficient in delivering the judgement. Moreover, in our constitutionalised country, we should follow the constitution. When a crime is taken place. there are many things associated with it. It can be only possible to discuss in the court, Community decisions may be taken tribewise but the crimes and judgements have to be persuaded in the jurisdiction of the court only.

Question 4.
If the Panch did injustice, what alternatives did the tribes have? (Conceptual understanding)
Answer:
If the tribe gets injustice in the judgement of the panchayat, people may go to the government police or courts to settle their disputes. There is no restriction of binding to the judgement of the panchayat of the Gonds.
