Nagarjuna Sagar is one of the most popular tourist places to visit near Hyderabad and one of the best weekend get aways from Hyderabad city. It is located in Nalgonda district in Telangana. Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Nagarjuna Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary, Nagarjuna Konda Museum, Ethipothala Waterfall are the famous attractions of this place. It is a prominent Buddhist centre in India. It is known in ancient days as Vijayapuri – the City of Victory. Nagarjuna Sagar takes its present name from Nagarjuna, one of the most revered Buddhist monks lived in 2nd century A.D.
It has some medium to budget accommodation options available. Telangana Tourism offers a wonderful cottage on the banks of Sagar lake called Vijaya Vihar. Nagarjuna Sagar dam is the centre of attraction here. It is one of the largest dams built in Asia. It was built across the Krishna river at Nagarjuna Sagar.

Bhadrachalam is a census town in Bhadradri district of Telangana. It is an impor¬tant Hindu pilgrimage town, situated on the banks of the Godavari river. The town is famous for temple of Lord Sri Rama. It has a bridge connecting the ITC Paper Boards with the main town. The towm has a documented history of Lord Sri Rama temple, constructed in 17th century by Kancherla Gopanna (nearly 370 years ago).
Legend has it that the present town is situated in an area which once formed part of the Dandakaranya, and said to be visited by Sri Rama, Sita and Lakshmana during their exile (Vanavasam). The forest in the vicinity of the temple was the site of Sri Rama’s retreat and it was at Parnasala (32 km from there) that he built a hut for himself and Sita and from where Sita was abducted by Ravana. Many hotels and restaurants are here to stay. In my opinion everyone should visit this temple town at least once in a life time if a person ever gets a chance to visit it.

Yadagirigutta temple or Yadadri is a popular Hindu temple of Narasimha Swami, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is situated on a hillock in the Yadagirigutta town of Yadadri district, Telangana, India. Huge number of devotees visit the temple on Sundays and public holidays.
Nice accommodations are also available. It is better to vist holy places like this to get peace.

Vemulavada is situated in Karimnagar district of Telangana. It is famous for Sri Raja Rajeswara Kshetram, a Hindu temple. It is situated 38 km from Karimnagar. This famous temple, dedicated to Lord Raja Rajeswara Swamy who is locally popular as Rajanna, draws pilgrims in large numbers. Interestingly there is a Dargah inside the temple complex where all devotees offer prayers, irrespective of caste and creed.
Pilgrims have divine bath in a holy tank called ‘Dharma Gundam’ before proceeding for darshan and these holy waters are believed to have medicinal properties. It was a built in 750 – 930 A.D. Hotels are available for accommodation.

Alampur is a temple town situated in Mahabubnagar district in the state of Telangana, India. Alampur is the meeting point of Tungabhadra and Krishna and is to referred to as Dakshina Kashi (also known as Nava Brahmeswara Theertha) and the western gateway of Srisailam. The principal dieties at Alampur are Bala Brahmeswara Swami and Jogulamba Devi. It is surrounded by the Nallamala hills. Alampur is situated on the left bank of the Tungabhadra river.
Alampur Navabrahma temples are historically important and reflect remarkable architec¬tural skills. Alampur is the 5th Shaktipeeth of 8 Shaktipeeths.
