When the mischievous boy was taking jam from the bottle which is in cupboard happened to fall on the wall. The boy might have tried to clean the jam on the wall. In this process, the stain was formed.

Answer:
No, the boy didn’t play indoors. The white carpet was covered with series of muddy foot prints. So, the boy could have played outside.

Question 4.
What do the muddy foot prints on the carpet suggest?
Answer:
The boy perhaps has gone outside to play. After returning from outside, his muddy feet might have formed the foot prints on the white carpet.

Have you ever been mischievous? Share with your partner some mischievous deeds that you have done in the past.
Answer:
When I was in 5th class I had been mischievous. I was weak in Mathematics. One day I didn’t complete maths home work. When I reached school the teacher asked me to submit the homework note book. I pretended as if I searched for the book and said that I forgot my notes at home. He asked me to go back to home and bring the book. I hesitated to do so. The teacher observed me and understood my position. He asked me to submit the book by the next day.

If you were mischievous like the boy in the poem, how would your mother react?
Answer:
If I were mischievous like the boy in the poem, my mother would first get angry with me but later she would understand the situation.

I. Collect one story of Tenali Raman/Birbal/Nasruddin or any other humorous story.

STORY – 1
Tenail Raman

One day king Krishna Deva Raya had won a war and was very happy. He decided to give gifts to all his ministers. He put gifts of jewels, precious stones, gold and silver behind a curtain. Among these was an empty bowl. That day Tenali was not in the court. He had gone out on some work.

The other ministers were happy as they thought that they got a chance to leave Tenali behind. All the ministers chose valuable gifts and left the empty bowl for Tenali. After Tenali had arrived the king asked him to take his gift. Tenali took the empty bowl and hid it behind him. One of the ministers immediately utilized the opportunity and told Krishna Deva Raya that it was an insult to hide the gift.

Krishna Deva Raya was angry and he asked Tenali. Tenali replied that he loved his king who had always given him so plenty of everything that he didnot want people to see the empty bowl and insult him. The king was so pleased that he immediately ordered the guard to fill the bowl with gold coins. The ministers had to eat a humble pie but Tenali was very happy. As usual Tenali had outwit others.

STORY- 2
Birbal

One day Akbar saw a dream in which he had only one tooth and he was sitting alone. Akbar was so disturbed by the dream that he woke up immediately from his deep sleep. The next day he called two great astrologers and asked them to predict his dream. One of the astrologers told Akbar that all his relatives would die before him and he would remain quite old. Akbar was enraged on hearing this and ordered the astrologer to be hanged.

The other astrologer was scared at this and making an excuse of forgetting his book, he left the palace. He approached Birbal for a solution. Birbal suggested him to tell the king that he would live a long life more than his sons and grand sons and enjoy the bounty of the earth for a long time. The astrologer followed Birbal’s suggestion and was rewarded a bag full of gold coins.

STORY – 3
Mufloft Nasruddin

Mullah Nasruddin started a new business but no one knew what kind of business he did. Mullah was growing richer and richer. He started going to Russia to do business. While crossing the border to Russia, the officer used to stop him to check if he was taking anything illegal with him. Mullah used to take his donkey and a bag of straw for the donkey. The officer was confused as to what Mullah used to take to Russia. One day the officer met Mullah in the market and asked him what he used to carry apart from the donkey and straw.

To this Nasruddin replied that he was selling donkeys. Donkeys were in demand in Russia. If he took a train of donkeys each time he went to Russia, the officer would not allow him, so he carried one donkey at a time and sold it. The officer was astonished to hear this.

When you went out some mysterious things like the breaking of a cup by itself, the crack in the blue vase which was brought by great grand father from China, the stain of jam of the size of a boy’s hand, the cat starting a washing machine while it was inside it, swelling of flour by itself, the appearance of muddy foot prints on a newly bought white carpet happened.
