While playing a game of Cricket, there are many rules. Similarly, we have rules to keep us safe and they are called Personal Body Safety rules. The three rules are :

1) Clothing rules :
We keep private parts covered in front of others. Though we don’t cover our mouth, it is private too.

2) Touching rules :
We don’t touch private parts in front of others.

3) Talking rules:
We talk about private parts with Safe Adults.

If someone breaks ‘Personal Body Safety Rules’, I can say ‘No’ to that person; GO away from that person as and when I can; TELL a safe adult about this person because he/she is doing something unsafe and has to be stopped. There is no shame in any part of the body. The person who breaks the Personal Body Safety Rules needs to be blamed, and he/she needs to feel ashamed of their behaviour.

I am a safe person if I follow Personal Body Safety Rules for myself and for others.

Ranji’s Wonderful Bat Summary in English

Ranji was a school boy. He was fond of cricket One day their team was playing against the visitor’s team. Their score was fifty-three for four wickets. Ranji was the youngest member of the team. Now it was his turn to bat. He went to bat and faced the first ball. The umpire declared him out. The visiting team won the match. Their captain Suraj told him never to lose confidence.

But their coach warned him if he didn’t score more runs in his next match, he would be dropped from the team. Ranji was going home sadly. Though ne practised well, he failed to make a big score. Everyday on his way home, Ranji used to chat with Mr. Kumar, the owner of a sports shop. Mr. Kumar had scored a century against Tanzania. But that day Ranji didn’t want to stop there; he was about to cross the road.

Mr. Kumar saw him crossing the road and asked him why he was looking so sad. Ranji went into the shop and told Mr. Kumar that he had scored a zero and he would be dropped from the team if he didn’t make a good score in their next game. Mr. Kumar searched for the bat with which he made a century. He picked it out and gave it to Ranji saying that it was a lucky bat. Next Saturday, Ranji s team played against another team. Their captain Suraj won the toss and decided to bat first.

When the spinners of the visitor’s team came to bowl, their score was thirty runs without a wicket. But the spinners struck two wickets in one over. Suraj too was out after making a few quick runs. Then Ranji went to bat and scored an unbeaten fifty-eight runs. He led his team to win the match. After the match was over, he went to Mr. Kumar and told him that he had made fifty-eight runs with the lucky bat.

Question 3.
Write a paragraph on your favourite sport/game.
Answer:

My favourite Game

Cricket is my favourite game. It is an interesting game.

Cricket was born in England but grew well in the Indian sub-continent. It was once played in only Common Wealth countries. But it is now an international game.

One or more countries in each continent play cricket. Though it was born in England, England has not won the World Cup hitherto.

There are certain rules about this game. Two teams take part in it. Each team has 11 players, some of them are pure batsmen, some are pure boilers and some are all – rounders. The wicket-keeper is often a good batsman. Bowlers are of two types namely pace-bowlers and spin bowlers. The captain of the team who wins the toss decides whether to bat first or field first. The team which scores more runs wins the game.

Previously only 5-day test matches were played. Later, along with test-matches, one-day matches in which each team can play for a maximum of fifty overs. Nowadays 20¬20 matches are also played. One-day International matches have World-Cup matches which are played for every four years. India won the 1983 World Cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, and the 2011 World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

In India, I.P.L. matches are being played which attract the attention of the millions. Our Indian batsman, Sachil Tendulkar, has scored the most runs as well as the most centuries in cricket.
