→ Population means the total number of people living in a country.
→ According to the theory of demographic transition a country passes through three stages of population growth.
→ The world population was 700 crores by October 31st 2011. With in next 3 to 4 decades by 2080 world population expected to around $?.20 billion. China is the most populus country in the world.
→ In India population increases very rapidly. The causes of high birth rate are due Economic factors like Predominance of Agriculture, Slow urbanisation, High incidence of poverty. And Social factors like Compulsory Marriage, Early Marriage, Religious Beliefs, Joint family system, Illiteracy etc. .
→ To Control population the Government of India follow the three methods.

→ ప్రపంచ జనాభాలో భారతదేశం వాటా 17.5 శాతం, భూభాగములో 2.4 శాతము, ఆదాయములో 1.2 శాతముగా ఉంది.

→ జనాభా అంటే ఒక నిర్ణీత ప్రదేశంలో నివసించే ప్రజలు.
→ ఆర్థికాభివృద్ధి మరియు జనన, మరణాల రేటును బట్టి జనాభా పరిమాణ సిద్ధాంతంను మూడు దశలుగా విభజించవచ్చు మొదటి దశలో జనన, మరణ రేట్లు ఎక్కువగా ఉంటాయి. రెండవ దశలో మరణాల రేటు తక్కువగాను, జననాలరేటు ఎక్కువగాను ఉండును. మూడవ దశలో జనన మరియు మరణాల రేటు తక్కువగా ఉంటాయి.
