Solution:
i) The horizontal line is called X-axis and the vertical line is called Y-axis.
ii) These two lines forms four quadrants, they are Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4.
iii) The point where these two lines intersect is called origin (0).

i) The coordinates of B.
ii) The coordinates of C.
iii) The point identified by the coordi-nates (-3, -5).

v) The abscissa of the point D is (6).
(∵ abscissa means nothing but X-coordinate)
