Practical Geometry Class 8 Exercise 4.4 Solutions – 8th Class Maths 4.4 Exercise Solutions
Question 1.
Construct the following quadrilaterals.
i) Quadrilateral DEAR. DE = 4 cm, EA = 5 cm, AR = 4.5 cm, ∠E = 60°, ∠A = 90°
Solution:
Where DE = 4 cm, EA = 5 cm,
AR = 4.5 cm; ∠E = 60°, ∠A = 90°
Steps of construction:
1. Draw a line segment \(\overline{\mathrm{EA}}\) = 5 cm.
2. Make an angle 90° at the point ‘A’.
3. Draw an arc radius 4.5 cm (AR) from the point A’.
4. Make an angle 60° at the point ’E’.
5. Draw an arc of radius 4 cm (DE) from the point ‘E’.
6. The intersection points are ’R’ and ‘D’ respectively.
7. Then join \(\overline{\mathrm{ED}}\), \(\overline{\mathrm{DR}}\), \(\overline{\mathrm{AR}}\) to get quadrilateral DEAR.
ii) Quadrilateral TRUE.
TR = 3.5 cm, RU = 3 cm, UE = 4 cm, ∠R = 75°, ∠U = 120°
Solution:
TR = 3.5 cm, RU = 3 cm, UE = 4 cm, ∠R = 75°, ∠U = 120°
Steps of construction:
1. Draw a line segment \(\overline{\mathrm{UE}}\) = 4 cm
2. Draw a line making an angle 120°at the point U’.
3. Draw an arc of radius of 3 cm from the point ‘U’.
4. Intersection of above two are the vertex ‘R’.
5. Now draw a line making an angle 75° at ’R’.
6. Draw an arc of radius of 3.5 cm from the point ‘R’.
7. Intersection of above two will be the vertex T.
8. Then join \(\overline{R U}\), \(\overline{R T}\) and \(\overline{T E}\).
9. Thus we get required quadrilateral TRUE.
