I am really ashamed of how I handled your case. I could have put in a little effort and helped you gain a position or helped you otherwise. But my unfeeling attitude has not just hurt you, but has also left me in pain today.
My friend, I beg you for the sake of our old friendship to forgive me and I promise to help you out in the best possible way. I wish to meet you soon, but I am too embarrassed to come and face you. Do let me know that you have forgiven me and I will make all things better.

Bepin Choudhury’s Lapse of Memory Summary in English
The story, ’Bepin Choudhury’s Lapse of Memory was written by Satyajit Ray, a great Bengali film director and Father of Indian Cinema. This story was woven round about the character Bepin Choudhury. He lived in Calcutta. He was an old man. He did not mingle with others. He was a vivid book reader.
He frequently visited bookshops to buy books. One day when he was at a book shop, a person named Parimal Ghose came to him and said that he was Bepin’s old acquaintance from his Ranchi trip. Bepin said that the man was mistaken him for someone else.
Parimal Ghose did not leave him. He shared some personal details about Bepin. He talked about some incidents about Bepin’s personal life. On hearing the details shared by Parimal Ghose, Bepin was confused.
Parimal Ghose said that he was not mistaken. He said that a person named Mr. Dinesh Mukerji was also with them on the same journey. He asked Bepiq to confirm this from Mukerji for clarification. Bepin tried to check the information with Mukerji. Dinesh Mukeyji said that it was true. Now Bepin was puzzled at this because he had no memory of ever visiting Ranchi.
That day, Bepin’s high school classmate Chunilal came to him to get help from Bepin. But Bepin refused to help him. He asked Chunilal if he had ever been to Ranchi. Chunilal confirmed Bepin’s visit to Ranchi. Bepin became greatly worried as time went on, thinking he had lost his memory.
As a result, he wanted to take medical treatment from the doctor Paresh Chanda who regularly treated him. The doctor advised Bepin to go to Ranchi and clear his doubts for himself. He said that visiting the same location once again may bring back Bepin’s memories.

Bepin Choudhury’s Lapse of Memory Summary in Telugu
