d) Write a script for a speech on ‘The Importance of Scientific and Practical Knowledge to Indians’.
Answer:
Respect.ed headmaster, respected teachers and my dear friends !
Good morning to everybody. Today I am very happy to stand before you to express my views on The Importance of Scientific and Practical Knowledge to Indians’.
One learns something to gain some knowledge from it. This is what we do here. But the knowledge should keep the person to stand on his / her feet for better livelihood as well as to be of use to his / her country that he / she belongs to. You know why small countries in the West have become well developed and how the living conditions of the citizens in them are. It’s nothing but they have scientific and practical knowledge that comes through their education system. You may spend much time for being a good linguist but that does not prosper your living conditions well.
So India being highly populated, Indians ought to seek scientific and practical knowledge by which not only the individual but also the entire country becomes prosperous by leaps and bounds. Think of the difference in the earnings of a person that acquires B.A. degree in some fine arts and a person who gets a B.Tech or M.B.B.S. degree. I hope you are able to understand the importance of what I said in the beginning.
Thank you one and all for providing me with this opportunity.
Jai Hind.
7. a) Write a letter to your friend on what you have understood by your study of the lesson ‘The Selfish Giant’.
Answer:
Vejendla. My dear Sirisha, In this letter, I would like to tell you what I have learnt by studying the lesson The Selfish Giant’. This lesson brings out the fact that people like the selfish Giant have to abandon their self’shnesS so as to please the Almighty. We come across such people frequently nowadays. But looking at them and studying them, you can understand what they have gained and what they have lost. Being selfish, the Giant did not let the children play in his garden. Hence his garden became snowy completely even in the spring. He had to undergo much sufferings. He realized the impact of being selfish and vanished it. He understood-children are the most beautiful flowers and where there are children there is joy and beauty. So, in the later part, he invited the children into his garder and played with them. This made the God be kind towards the Giant and so came as a boy and took him to his paradise in the end. So we all should be selfless and co-operative. Convey my regards to your parents. Awaiting a letter from you, I remain. Yours lovingly, |
