Dear Diary,
Today is a memorable day. I never forget the greatness of this university, takshashila. Actually Takshashila is a city in India. It is an important archaeological site. But its fame rests on the university where Chanakya is said to have composed his Arthashastra.

Takshashila is a noted centre of learning, including religious teachings of Buddhism. It attracts students from around the world. It is known for its higher education and the curriculum comprised the study of scriptures, law, medicine, astronomy, military science and the eighteen silpas or arts. It is famous as a place of learning due to its teachers’ expertise. The legendary Indian grammarian, Panini and the skilled exponent of statecraft, Chanakya (also known as Kautilya) studied in this university. Students come to Takshashila from Kashi, Kosala, Magadha and also from other countries in spite of the long and arduous journey they have to undertake. Valley city,
Wilren (Dt).
July, 20xx.

My Dear John Smith,
Fine and hope the same with you there. In this letter, I would like to express you something interesting and astoninishing happened here in this valley.

You know, as I had heard of the wiser and nobler man in this valley, 1 came to see him and study him well. He is none but Ernest. People in this valley believed in the prophecy that a nobler and wiser man would appear and he would resemble the Great Stone Face in all aspects. They are eagerly waiting for him. And it’s true that this man Ernest also believes in the prophecy.

When I entered the house of Ernest, I found him holding a book in his hands. He * gladly welcomed me. When he asked me who I am, 1 just showed him the book he has in his hands. I asked him for a night’s shelter. He gladly accepted. We talked to each other. While talking, he looked at the Great Stone Face. I also looked at it. I said that I had no likeness to the Stone Face. He also felt sad to say the same. Later he took me to an open-air place where he met a group of neighbours. While he was talking to them, I observed him keenly. Then I declared Ernest had the complete resemblance to the Stone Face. People there also agreed to what 1 had said. They said that the prophecy had come true.

But the honest and humble old wise man said that he was not that and he was still hopeful that a man nobler and better than himself would come and he would resemble the Great Stone Face. He was eagerly waiting for him. I really admire Ernest.
Kindly drop me a letter.

Yours affectionately,
The poet

King Midas told God that he wanted such boon that would enable him to whatever he touched, it had to be turned into gold. God gave him that boon and disappeared.

Next morning when he woke up, he touched his cot. The cot turned into gold. He touched his bed, walls of his room and the doors. They all turned into gold. Unmindful of the effect of the boon that God had presented him, at that time and also being rather hungry, he touched his meals which at once turned into gold. So he could not eat anything. He felt sorry.

Later, his daughter came to him. Unfortunately he touched her. She turned into a golden statue. Now he was deeply sad. He prayed to God again. God appeared. King Midas asked God to excuse him.
